
Mr. Wright has more than 15 years experience in Information,
Communications and Technology (ICT) markets and has a well
developed skill set in the management of ICT businesses
and in particular in the execution of best practice objectives
and negotiation of successful commercial arrangements. As
a result he is well placed to quickly ascertain the value,
opportunities and risks within ICT businesses. In recent
years, he has assisted a number of international clients
to make informed investment decisions and achieve key milestones.
Prior to David’s current position as Managing Director
of the newly formed Technology Interface – a project
venture with Macquarie Bank, David worked as a strategic
advisor for Macquarie Bank subsidiary Open Telecommunications
Ltd leading to the takeover and refunding of that business.
David is also an Executive Director of members of the Wright
Corporate Group, including a specialist investor focusing
on energy resources and a commercialisation vehicle for
university developed research.
David’s ICT experience has been broadened by roles
as corporate advisor for companies such as SmartTrust AB,
FirstHop (current), NICTA (current) and Qualcomm and operational
roles such as Joint Managing Director of the successful
SME Service Provider T3 Communications, and as Joint CEO
of One.Tel Networks – the One.Tel Limited subsidiary
that developed, launched and operated the highly successful
One.Tel GSM1800 wireless mobile business in Australia. David
was brought to One.Tel to undertake the vendor and project
finance negotiations for One.Tel. Having achieved these
objectives, he then assumed responsibility for the executive
management, financial and operational aspects of the One.Tel
mobile network business subsidiaries.
Mr. Wright’s background is in telecommunications
and competition law from working with the law firm Gilbert
& Tobin, and the Australian competition regulator, the
ACCC. He has Degrees in both Law and Commerce and post graduate
qualifications in Legal Practice and was a part time lecturer
in Alternative Dispute Resolution at the University of Canberra
and guest lecturer on E-commerce Law at the University of
New South Wales. David is admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor
of the High Court and Federal Courts of Australia and the
Supreme Court of the ACT.
